The Californian team using AI to protect against wildfires
e first met Sonia and Arvind while half of Northern California was burning. The Park Fire scorched >400,000 acres in late summer 2024, the latest in a long line of wildfires that are increasing in frequency and virulence. Pano is personal for these two: both residents of California, one a native of Australia, they had spent most of their lives in the path of that next great burn. Pano is their life’s work, and a weapon for the next generation of firefighters.
We partnered with Pano in June 2025, leading their Series B in the long shadow of the Los Angeles wildfires in January of that year. Never had it felt more urgent that Pano’s early-detection technology be scaled across the US and beyond. The stage was set for Pano to become the mission control for all future natural disasters.

Building a platform to detect and orchestrate responses to wildfires and other environmental disasters is a grand vision. We have supported Pano in pursuing its biggest ambitions.
Pano is going from strength to strength. Our investment followed four consecutive years of rapid revenue growth, but in 2025, the company doubled revenue again. Contracted revenue well exceeds $100 million, supporting coverage of over 30 million acres worldwide.
